Dessert table styling

I recently had the honour of styling and pulling together the dessert table at my cousin’s daughter’s 1st birthday! Given the guest list size of approximately 80 people, at first there was a question as to whether there would be a dessert table at all! I was so excited that it went ahead as it was definitely lots of fun and so exciting to watch everyone’s reactions when they saw it. It was a focal point for the party and a great place for photos and as a backdrop.

The colour scheme for the party was baby pink, baby blue and a teal green. The dessert table consisted of lots of different heights and textures to create depth and character. We utilised lots of hanging paper pom poms and balloons as a backdrop to the table.

The table itself was styled with smaller honeycomb balls, tiered cake stands, serving ware, flowers, lolly jars, party favours and of course the birthday cake.

I found the easiest way to style a dessert table like this is to be extremely prepared, organised and have a plan. Have a trial run of the set up to ensure you fill the space adequately and create a smooth set up on the actual day.
